How to choose the best bridal wear based on your body shape

Choosing a wedding attire is one of the most complicated things to do, especially for women. They are at wit’s end while choosing an apt bridal wear. One should always make sure that the outfit they select fits them perfectly. But the problem lies in finding the apt attire.

You may select your wedding dress based on the colour, fabric or even the trend, but the most important factor to consider before finalizing the outfit is to see if the outfit suits your body shape.

If your bridal wear complements your body shape, you will look fabulously stunning on your wedding day. Are you not sure which type of attire will suit your profile? Worry not, for here are a few suggestions.

The hour glass shape:

Is the shape of your body like an Hour Glass? You are an Hour Glass figure if your top and bottom halves are perfectly balanced, with a very defined waist. This body requires a dress that would emphasize the slim waistline. A number of fabulous styles work well on women with hour glass structure. Lehengas with a short top, Anarkali suits which are little tight in the midsection and perfectly draped sarees would give you a chick look. If you are planning to wear a gown on your wedding, try the mermaid type gowns, it will enhance your look and add elegance to your shape.

Pear Shape:

Yes, you are right if you identify the body type with that of the pear fruit. If your frame is small on top and heavy on the bottom, here are some dress types which will add poise to your beauty. The trick is to draw attention to the upper body so as to tone down the heavier bottom and make the body look symmetric. Make sure that your blouse/top has wonderful designer or embroidery works. Puff hands and heavy detailing adds volume to your blouse. For the bottom, wear your lehenga or saree below the navel to accentuate your slim waist. The cut of the lehenga should be straight. It should not flare out from the waist and make your hips look larger. Also, avoid wearing a fish-cut lehenga because it hugs the hips and accentuates its shape.

Petite shape:

If you are small, slim and slender then petite is your shape. Wear the attire that makes you look taller. A great choice for girls with petite shape is to go for the outfit that is fairly light without too much heavy material draped over you. Sharara, Choori dar and Anarkali suit with long sleeves will make you look taller. It is better to avoid heavy duppatas, believe it, it’s a bad choice. Also make sure that you go for V cut or U cut neck designs.

Apple Shape:

If you are an apple shaped beauty, then you hip is slightly smaller than your bustline. While choosing your wedding dress, make sure that you balance both the half of your body. Go for soft fabrics like chiffon so that it will give you an elegant appeal. An anrakali suit or shahara type dress would look fabulous on you and balance your body shape due to the flowing umbrella cut.
