You may revel in washing your hair quite often during this torrid summer, but frequent shampooing may harm your hair. Too much shampoo may cause more harm than good as it causes dryness in scalp. If you feel the need for shampoo is inevitable, just in case of sweaty scalp or greasy hair, go for mild shampoos which are good for summer. While you wash your hair, make sure that you apply shampoo on your scalp and not the hair, because when you wash your scalp the suds will rinse down, thus washing your hair in the process. If you apply shampoo separately on your hair and hair tips, it may dry them out. Also, try using a moisturizing shampoo instead of normal ones during summer. It is better to avoid washing your hair with hot water as heat may cause hair dryness and trigger hair fall.

If you have recently colored your hair, you should take extra care during summer. Fading of hair colour is a common factor during summer. Your favourite hair colour may fade and soon turn into a dull version of it or sometimes into some other colour. So, while choosing the hair care products, make sure you go for branded ones which are specially produced for coloured hair. If you have coloured you hair less than a fortnight, then don’t go out in the sun often. Covering your head with a scarf is also a good choice.

 

4. Keep your hair tied

If there is something that you must strictly follow to keep your hair damage free, then it is to keep it tied always. Remember that the summer heat makes your hair dry and frizzy. If you let it loose frequently, your hair may be tangled and sometimes cause sweat. Tying your hair may help you avoid this issue. Moreover, this is the time for you to sport a chic look with different hairstyles. You can try different styles such as braids, pony tails, buns, updos, knots and many more. 5. Stay hydrated

Keeping yourself hydrated is good not only for your health but also your hair. Having at least 8 – 10 glasses of water may save your hair from dryness. Even if you follow all the above tips, your hair will remain dry and damaged unless you keep yourself hydrated during this period. Opt for cooling liquids which will keep your hair and skin healthy and make you feel refreshed. Also, add fruits such as apples, watermelons, bananas in your diet.
